Automated, hygienic curd transfer from coagulation to stretching
The Pneumatic Curd Transport System is designed to fully automate the internal transfer of acid curd, eliminating manual handling, reducing contamination risk, and ensuring a continuous and hygienic flow from coagulation vats to stretching and molding equipment.
The system operates under positive pressure, providing reliable curd transport with capacities of up to 9,900 lb/h (4,500 kg/h). It integrates curd collection, controlled size reduction, rotary dosing, pneumatic conveying, and cyclone reception into a single coordinated solution. This approach transforms a traditionally discontinuous and labor‑intensive operation into a continuous, enclosed, and washable process.
The transfer cycle begins with a collection hopper and double‑auger elevator, which feed a size‑reduction unit to prepare the curd for pneumatic conveying. A star‑type rotary valve meters the product into the pressure line generated by the blower, ensuring uniform flow without blockages or curd agglomeration. The curd is then conveyed to one or multiple receiving cyclones, depending on line configuration.
Thanks to its modular design, the system can supply multiple downstream destinations—such as stretchers or molders—through diverter valves, allowing seamless integration into existing pasta filata and mozzarella production lines. Full CIP compatibility ensures maximum hygiene and minimal downtime.
By eliminating manual carts and open transfers, the Pneumatic Curd Transport System improves plant safety, reduces operating costs, and significantly enhances process consistency and sanitation.
This system automates the plant's internal logistics, transforming a traditionally discontinuous and manual process into a continuous flow operation. The cycle begins with a collecting hopper and a double-screw elevator feeding the size reducer, preparing the curd for aerial transport. A star rotary valve doses the product into the positive pressure line generated by the blower, ensuring constant transfer without blockages or compaction toward the cyclone receivers. Its modular design allows feeding multiple destinations (stretchers, molders) via diverter valves, integrating perfectly into existing plants.
Technical Advantages
Industrial Capacity and Scalability: The system handles flows of up to 4,500 kg per hour, allowing increased production capacity without increasing the workforce or the physical effort of operators.
Product Conditioning: Includes a size reducer with an opposed blade system and a star rotary valve. This ensures the curd has the correct particle size for efficient pneumatic transport, avoiding product damage and pipe blockages.
Multi-Destination Route Management: Via flow direction valves, the system can selectively feed different process lines (e.g., two different stretchers or mold filling systems) from a single feed source.
Cyclonic Separation and Sanitation: The receiving cyclone effectively separates the curd from the transport air. It features sanitary butterfly valves at discharge to prevent steam backflow and is equipped with washing balls for complete CIP cleaning.
Maximize hygiene and operational efficiency by eliminating manual carts, ensuring a continuous, hermetic, and CIP-cleanable flow to your final processing equipment.
Opposed blade module that conditions curd to the correct particle size for efficient pneumatic transport, preventing pipe blockages.
